Flu prevention update: There is a clinic planned for Jefferson County residents on November 19th, from 5:00 to 8:00 PM at Rigby High School.  There is also a clinic planned in Dubois for Clark County on November 10, from 5:00 to 7:00 PM at their high school.

A ticket method is being used at the Rigby clinic.  Starting at noon, people can show up at Rigby High School and receive a numbered ticket for vaccination.  They can then leave and come back at 5:00 PM.  People will be assembled in the auditorium according to ticket number. This eliminates long lines plus it more or less guarantees that if you have a ticket, you will receive a vaccination, so long as they fall within the priority groups.

 UPDATE Nov 4

The vaccine is still coming in to us in small amounts, so we are forced to consolidate into 1 clinic for each county every three weeks.  Because of this shortage, we do not have enough vaccine to setup smaller clinics in each school district or town yet.  Our goal is to eventually be able to have a clinic in Terreton, but for at least all of November, there is not one planned there.  There is a clinic planned for Jefferson County residents on November 19th, from 5:00 to 8:00 PM at Rigby High School.  We realize that this requires people in outlying communities to drive to Rigby, but we just don't have the vaccine to do multiple small clinics.  There is also a clinic planned in Dubois for Clark County on November 10, from 5:00 to 7:00 PM at their high school.

On the up side, we are using a ticket method at the Rigby clinic.  Starting at noon, people can show up at Rigby High School and receive a numbered ticket for vaccination.  They can then leave and come back at 5:00.  People will be assembled in the auditorium according to ticket number.  This eliminates long lines and the need to stand in line in the cold, plus it more or less guarantees that if you have a ticket, you will receive a vaccination, so long as they fall within the priority groups.   (And return when they're supposed to).

Hope this helps.  As I get more information, and hopefully more vaccine, I'll keep you in touch.  If you have any questions, let me know.

Because of the limited supply of H1N1 vaccine coming into the State of Idaho, We will initially be
giving vaccine in one location, every other week, in each county. For Jefferson County we will have
3,623 doses available. The first vaccine clinic will be held at Rigby High School on October 28, from
4:00 - 9:00 PM. The vaccine will be available to all Jefferson County residents. The vaccine will be
distributed on a first come, first serve basis to the following groups:
1. Household contacts and care givers for children younger than 6 months of age.
2. All people from 6 months to 24 years of age.
3. Persons aged 25 though 64 who have health conditions associated with higher risk of medical
complications from the flu.
Two weeks later, after we receive more vaccine, during the week of November 9 - 13, we will plan
another vaccine clinic for Jefferson County, possibly at both Ririe and West Jefferson School Districts,
to distribute vaccine to Jefferson County residents.
Keep in mind that West Jefferson and Ririe students and families can come to the Rigby High School
clinic for vaccination. All Rigby students and and families will also be able to come to Ririe or West
Jefferson for vaccination.
Thanks for all your help. I'll keep you informed as things develop. If you need anything, give me a
call.
