I grew up in Colorado Springs, CO with eight brothers and sisters. It was there that I found my love for education.
I served a mission for my church in Merida, Yucatán, Mexico. I then graduated with a Bachelors Degree in Elementary Education from BYU-Idaho.
I taught third grade for seven years at Kennedy Elementary School in Rexburg. While teaching, I graduated from Northwest Nazarene University with a Master's Degree in Leadership: Building Administration.
My current responsibilities at West Jefferson School District are Hamer Elementary & Terreton Elementary Principal (PreK-4), Title 1 Coordinator, Reading Coach, Testing Coordinator K-6, Supplemental Instruction Coach, and Building Safety & Procedures (PreK-4.)
I live in Rexburg with my beautiful wife Carissa, and our four children; Kyler 8, Brant 7, Audrey 4 and Malia 2. I love spending time with them and playing games and sports. I love running, reading, and teaching.
Family has always been important to me. Family to me is people working together by building one another and developing trusting relationships. Families are able to learn from and care for one another. Families require respect, responsibility, diligence, dedication, and consideration. I believe that our school can develop this unity and become a “School Family”.
I have a passion for reading and believe that every student can become a reader. I want to help students learn reading skills and find the right books to become lifelong readers. I am looking forward to helping build our West J. Family!
