A young member of our Panther family is going through some tough things right now and can use our love, prayers, and support. Caellum Hebdon finished 6th grade at Terreton Elementary this past school year. Caellum's father, JayC, said this in a recent post: "Today, we found out our 12 year old son, Caellum, has a rare form of brain cancer. It's called Diffuse Hemispheric Glioma H3G34 mutate. His prognosis is 17-22 months to live with treatment. That is 6 weeks of daily radiation, then 9 months of chemo. It started with stroke symptoms where he couldn't talk, and his right side was paralyzed. We rushed him to the IF hospital where they scanned, found the tumor, then life flighted him to Utah. He's been at Primary Children's Hospital in SLC for 2 and half weeks, having 2 brain surgeries. The 1st surgery was to save his life, where they removed a tumor the size of a tangerine. The 2nd was to clean out the remaining tumor after swelling went down. Caellum has 4 siblings: 2 older brothers and 2 younger sisters. Caellum loves making art, modding minecraft, and playing ROBLOX, but most of all, just being home hanging out with his brothers and sisters." Caellum will get to come home today for a few weeks until he has to start treaments at Primary Children's Hospital. While working as a Paraprofessional in our schools, Caellum's mom, Kaylene, finished up her teaching degree and is set to begin teaching English at West Jefferson Junior High this fall. If you are able to help, here are a few ways! Kaylene's co-workers have put together a fundraising Pickleball Tournament (with a bake sale!) on August 23rd at the Mud Lake City Park. New student registration will be held for any new students who have not previously registered this summer at West Jefferson. This will be held at the ALC Building / District Office located in between the Terreton Elementary and High School buildings.
