Any interested 6th-8th graders will start track practice on Monday, April 1st right after school. A parent meeting will be held at 5:15pm. First meet is Wed. April 3rd, so it's important that athletes attend Monday and Tuesday practices.

Good afternoon,
Due to issues with FAFSA, we have extended the deadline for students to apply for the $2,000 ISU Road Scholarship. See more info below regarding the application process and the ISU Online Scholarship process.
The window to apply for the ISU $2,000 Road The scholarship is open and I would love for your students considering ISU to apply. To expedite the process, and avoid lost paperwork, please have students complete their admission application to ISU if they have not already done so. Being admitted to ISU does not commit them to attend, but does allow them to automatically be considered for scholarships at ISU. Students can apply for the Road Scholarship and several other scholarship opportunities in ISU’s Bengal Online Scholarship System (BOSS). Please note scholarships have different deadlines!
Students who are NOT yet admitted to ISU can do so by visiting one of the below sites:
1. Apply Idaho, visit: https://apply.nextsteps.idaho.gov/ or
2. ISU Admissions, visit: https://www.isu.edu/apply/undergraduate/) and click on “create an account”. To waive the application fee, students will select "New Freshman" and enter the code "WAIVER".
Once a student is admitted to ISU they will be able to apply for the Road Scholarship, a deadline of April 30th, as well as several others in BOSS.
For students to apply for the Road Scholarship, they should follow these steps.
1. Log into BOSS (see below link). Students will enter their username and password, provided by admissions. This username and password will be used to not only apply for scholarships in BOSS, but also to register for classes, log into BengalWeb, etc.
2. Complete the short “general application” in BOSS (if they have not already done so).
3. Once the “general application” is complete, the Road Scholarship will automatically appear in their “recommended” scholarship list - if they are eligible.
4. Students can also go to the “Opportunities tab”, click on “ours”, and type “Road” into the search bar.
5. Students should submit their application in BOSS (as instructed) by April 30th.
For information on Road Scholarship eligibility and a link to BOSS, visit: https://www.isu.edu/scholarships/road-scholarship/
ISU awards over $10 million in scholarships annually. We would love to see many of YOUR amazing students apply for the Road Scholarship as well as receive several other scholarships at ISU.
Please feel free to call or e-mail me with any questions you might have. I can assure you I will make sure your questions get answered.
Thanks and I am excited to meet your students this year!

We’ve seen our amazing parents fill the gym for a game, the auditorium for a play, and stands for a football game! The question is can we fill the auditorium for a meeting about some awesome academic things we have going on at the high school that trickles down to the junior high?
We are excited to present “Destination Success!” The first of a few parent meetings we have coming up in our Destination to Success series!
Who is Invited: Parents of students grades 6-11, students grades 6-11, and anyone else who might benefit from this information!
When: Tuesday, March 19th @ 6:30pm!
Where: WJ High School Auditorium
What: Come learn more about advanced opportunities, our new math program pathways, and how those are connected to our CTE classes, and learn about our CTE pathways and clubs! There is a really cool connection between all of them!
How: We have arranged a fun night, so you won’t only learn, you will play a game throughout the night to win fun prizes, sample and see things from the different presenters, eat some fun food, and show your kids that learning at school can even happen for parents! We are excited to try something we haven’t before.
Why: “For decades, researchers have pointed to one key success factor that transcends nearly all others, such as socioeconomic status, student background or the kind of school a student attends: parental involvement.”
“Parent involvement in education is crucial. Regardless of family income or background, students whose parents are involved in their schooling are more likely to have higher grades and test scores, attend school regularly, have better social skills, show improved behavior, and adapt well to school.”
“Parental involvement also more securely sets these students up to develop a lifelong love of learning, which researchers say is key to long-term success.”
“When parents are involved at school, the performance of all the children at school, not just their own, tends to improve. The more comprehensive and well planned the partnership between school and home, the higher the student achievement.”
We would love your support! ❤️❤️

Our Softball team is playing their first games of the season at a tournament this weekend. Let the fun begin!
