
Weekly Athletic Schedule for Feb. 10-15, 2025


CEI is holding their annual dental cleaning event this month. Due to the popularity of the program, appointments are required and space is limited. February 24; 4-8PM



This change will move our Junior High and High School games closer together that are both being played in Salmon.


Our Girls Basketball Team will play in a loser out game against North Fremont (tonight) Friday, Feb. 7th at 6:00pm. This game will be played at Thunder Ridge High School in Idaho Falls.


SENIOR NIGHT for our wrestling team will be Thursday, Feb. 6th at 5:00pm
We have one senior to honor this year - Gunner Capell. This will take place immediately before the match starts.
Please join us to honor our senior and to support the wrestling team in their last home event of the season.


Our Girls Basketball Team defeated North Fremont on Monday in their first district game.
They will now be playing against Firth on Wednesday, Feb. 5th at South Fremont High School in the second round of the district tournament!

Juniors and Seniors - We will be holding the ACT on Friday, March 7, at 8:00 am, in the High School. You can sign up with Mr. Gemar in his office or by sending an email to davidgemar@wjsd.org. If this is the first time that you're taking the test, then Advanced Opportunities funding will pay for it. If not, then you'll need to pay the $51.25 to take the test. https://tinyurl.com/mr2krppu


Seniors and Parents - We'll be holding a FAFSA Night on Monday, February 24 from 6-8pm. Please make sure that you already have your FSA ID created at least 4 days in advance. You will not be able to submit if you're creating it that night, and it takes 3 days for verification. We'll have representatives from CSI and CEI there to help you. Junior students participated in the Armed Services Vocational Aptitude Battery (ASVAB) today! Not only does it give a military qualifying score but also allows students to explore career options. Results should be back within a week or two, and will be viewable in PowerSchool along with a detailed score report.

16 students went to BYUI today to take the Spanish CLEP Exam for University credits. The exam is paid for with Advanced Opportunity funding and costs $95. Students could earn 6 or 9 University credits which means there was $2,000 - $3,000 saved depending on how many credits were earned! 5 students took the Spanish with writing exam and an update will be made when those scores are received. Well done, students!

NOTE - The Girls District Basketball Tournament starts this week. Games will be played in a different location (South Fremont) on Wednesday due to a scheduling conflict at Thunder Ridge.
We have very few HOME Wrestling matches, but this week, we are lucky enough to have TWO! Come support these athletes on their home mat!

Rue Sauer is finally coming home!
Rue is the daughter of Ryan & Kinzie Sauer of Monteview. For months, she has had to stay in Utah in and out of Primary Children's Hospital battling heart issues.
We are excited to welcome her and her family back home and invite everyone to tie red ribbons on all of the power poles on their route home.


Athletic Performance Training
Coach Higgs welcomes West Jefferson High School students to come work with him in the West J Legacy Gym/Weightroom this week on the days listed on the image. You do not currently have to be playing sports to participate.
