Big thanks to Bikers Against Bullies USA -Idaho Falls for visiting West Jefferson School District today! The D.A.R.E. (Drug Abuse Resistance Education) assembly for Terreton and Clark County sixth graders will be held Tuesday, March 19, 2024 at 9:00 a.m. in the West Jefferson Panther Den in Terreton.
Our featured speaker for this year's assembly will be Utah native Porter Ellett, a BYU graduate who has been with the Kansas City Chiefs organization for seven years. Porter was elevated to assistant running backs coach this season. The Chiefs won their third Super Bowl last month in overtime against the San Francisco 49ers. Porter’s motivational presentation will inspire all who attend. Parents and families are invited. Please be in your seats by 8:50 am.

Dear Parents and Students,
Starting Monday, elementary students K-6 will no longer have access to the microwave in the teacher’s lounge during lunch. This decision was made to alleviate the workload on our dedicated teachers.
We kindly ask for your support in this effort as we strive to give back to our teachers who consistently go above and beyond. By refraining from bringing lunches that require heating at school, we can help our teachers enjoy a well-deserved break without the added responsibility of monitoring or preparing student lunches.
We believe that this change will allow teachers to fully recharge during their lunch break. Your cooperation is greatly appreciated in making this transition smooth and beneficial for everyone involved.
Thank you for your understanding and support.
Sincerely,
Kyle Johnson

Bikers Against Bullying Assembly On March 21st, we will have the Bikers Against Bullying Assembly from 1:00-2:30 in the Panther Den. All students K-8 will be there. Parents, you’re also invited!

Our local VFW recently awarded their 2023 Elementary Educator of the Year Award to Jalena Dixon. Mrs. Dixon has worked in the West Jefferson School District as a Special Education Teacher for 8 years. She has been the District Special Ed. Coordinator for 4 years. Among her many duties, she is responsible for organizing the schedules of all of our Paraprofessionals.
Our elementary principal, Kyle Johnson, nominated Mrs. Dixon by writing an essay that he submitted to the VFW. He read this essay during the West Jefferson Veteran's Day Assembly. Mrs. Dixon was awarded a certificate, a bouquet of flowers, and a cash prize. The essay will now move to the district level. We appreciate Mrs. Dixon and the work that she does within our schools to help our students.

WJ Senior, Heidi Lou Van Wagner, is doing a Mini-Cheer Clinic for her Senior Project for 4th-7th graders. Sign-up at the Terreton Elementary Office. Practice begins Monday, Nov. 27th.

Thank you to our Veterans for serving our country and students. Thank you, Annie Dalling, Kaylene Young, and our K-6 students, for helping put together a fantastic Veteran’s Day Program. 🇺🇸
