West Jefferson's National Honor Society will be holding their induction ceremony for new members on Tuesday, May 13 at 6:00pm in the HS Auditorium.
Congratulations to our High School Track Athletes! Their district championship meet was held last week and these are West Jefferson's top finishers who have qualified to compete at the State Track Championship Meet this weekend at Middleton High School.
Fun fact: Rawley Calder broke TWO West Jefferson High School track records this year! The school record in the boys long jump was set by Rod Pancheri, clear back in 1985 with a distance of 21' 8.75"!! Rawley broke his record by jumping 23' 2.5"!! The school record for triple jump was set by Braxton Ramirez in 2018 with a jump of 41' 5.5"!! Rawley broke that record by jumping 44' 7.25"!!
This post has been in the making for over a year! Our 2023 Boys Cross Country Team was awarded the 2023-24 2A Academic State Championship, but they just recently received their banner! It was presented to the high school at an assembly and will be hung up in the Panther Den.
The boys on the 2023-24 XC team were Gavin Williams, Treyson Ricks, Ryker Babcock, Ethan Schwieder, and Daniel Spencer. They averaged an impressive 3.937 GPA. Not only did they have the highest GPA in 2A for the State of Idaho, but they had the highest for Boys Cross Country for the entire state!!
Congratulations Boys! We are so proud of the way you represent West Jefferson and for your dedication in and out of the classroom.
The West Jefferson Junior Class held their annual Mr. West Jeff program to raise money for their Senior year.

Each year, the Post Register newspaper holds a Sports Stars recognition event honoring local high school athletes for their accomplishments.
West Jefferson junior Alena Messerli was one of the top three finalists for the Female Wrestler of the Year award and received a certificate at the evening event held at Hillcrest High School in Idaho Falls.

The School Nutrition Association’s 2025 Awards Celebration was recently held, and one of our West Jefferson Child Nutrition staff members was awarded the 2025 Western Region Employee of the Year.

TONIGHT (Thursday, May 1st) is SENIOR NIGHT for our track athletes.
They will be celebrating their final season with a banquet for the entire high school track team, along with the parents of the Seniors.
WJ High School Cheer Tryouts are Friday, May 2nd, from 4:00-6:00PM in the ALC Building.
Current 8th through 11th graders are invited to try out!

Teaching applicants will use the Certified Application with additional supporting documents.
All other applicants will use the Classified Application.
