Due to our cheer program's continued growth and success, we have consulted with our cheer coaches and re-designated responsibilities for the upcoming school year. The coaching assignments will be: Lacey Munoz - Head Junior High Cheer Coach Kinzie Sauer - Head High School Cheer Coach Dovie Williams - Asst. High School Cheer Coach A big THANK YOU to these ladies for sharing their time and talents with the students in our school district! The High School will be scheduling tryouts in the near future. The Junior High cheer season will begin in September.

We have had a REALLY busy week at the high school! First cool thing was our girls’ softball team starting their season in St. George last weekend…The tournament is scheduled to get them some time in good weather. Their first day they were able to play but they got rained out on their second day! They were able to do a lot of team bonding and make good memories…love this idea of signing the bat! The girl who makes an impact in each game this season gets to sign the bat. Excited to see this team continue to play and grow together!

High School Track season gets underway with the Salmon Icebreaker on Thursday, March 21st. We are excited to have a large group of athletes participating again this year!

After a one-year hiatus, our High School Baseball Team is back! They will begin their season this week at home!

Recently, our High School Scholastic Team has been competing in area scholastic meets. West Jefferson hosted Ririe, Arco, and Mackay for our home meet. We’ve seen our amazing parents fill the gym for a game, the auditorium for a play, and stands for a football game!  The question is can we fill the auditorium for a meeting about some awesome academic things we have going on at the high school that trickles down to the junior high? We are excited to present “Destination Success!” The first of a few parent meetings we have coming up in our Destination to Success series!  Who is Invited: Parents of students grades 6-11, students grades 6-11, and anyone else who might benefit from this information!  When: Tuesday, March 19th @ 6:30pm!  Where: WJ High School Auditorium  What: Come learn more about advanced opportunities, our new math program pathways, and how those are connected to our CTE classes, and learn about our CTE pathways and clubs! There is a really cool connection between all of them!  How: We have arranged a fun night, so you won’t only learn, you will play a game throughout the night to win fun prizes, sample and see things from the different presenters, eat some fun food, and show your kids that learning at school can even happen for parents!  We are excited to try something we haven’t before.  Why: “For decades, researchers have point­ed to one key suc­cess fac­tor that tran­scends near­ly all oth­ers, such as socioe­co­nom­ic sta­tus, stu­dent back­ground or the kind of school a stu­dent attends: parental involve­ment.” “Parent involvement in education is crucial.
