Welcome to West Jefferson!
Ms. Day will be teaching in the High School and Junior High.

2023-24 School Year School Meal Prices
Did you know that a portion of the Federal Funding our schools receive is based on the Free & Reduced Meals Applications that are submitted by the families in our school district? This funding pays for Intervention Staff (Paraprofessionals/Aides), Intervention Programs, and helps us qualify for Grants for our schools.
Due to the increase in the cost of food items, our school board approved a small increase to this year's meal prices. As you will notice, there is a big difference in the cost of the "Free & Reduced Meals." In order for your children to qualify for FREE or Reduced Price Meals, parents/guardians MUST fill out a Free and Reduced Meals Application EVERY SCHOOL YEAR. If no application is received, the full price for meals will be charged.
The 2023-24 Free & Reduced Meal Application is NOW AVAILABLE. Parents/Guardians may fill out the online application or a paper application available at Registration or at the Lunchroom.

When we get closer to school starting and throughout the year, you will find the daily breakfast and lunch menus are the WJSD App and Website.
Also, our elementary schools have qualified again for the Fresh Fruits and Vegetables Grant. Free fruits and vegetables will be available for students to snack on during their last recess each day.

Are you having trouble with all of this online registration stuff? We will still have In-Person Registration at the ALC Building for those who do not want to do it at home. You will still need to do the online portion, but we will have people at registration to guide you through it.
Mr. Gemar is working all this week for those who have questions about online registration or course selection. He is also making appointments for New Student Registration. davidgemar@wjsd.org or 208-663-4391
If you are just having trouble logging in to PowerSchool, you can contact our Tech Supervisor, Jon. reynaj@wjsd.org or 208-663-4542.

Several posts and emails have already gone out, but we are needing the last group of students to put in their course requests by the end of the day on Wednesday, August 2nd. After that, the students that didn't request classes will have random classes assigned to them.
Mr. Gemar is available to help with questions, but please check the posts/emails first to see if your question has already been answered. 208-663-6042 or davidgemar@wjsd.org.
STUDENTS, PLEASE SPREAD THE WORD TO YOUR FRIENDS & CLASSMATES!

Good afternoon,
Many questions have come about filling out Enrollment forms online and requesting classes for next year. Please join me for an information session on how to complete those tasks on Friday, July 28, at 10:00am, 2:00pm, or 6:00pm.
Each session will start with the general information and then have a Q&A session for those participating.
Have a great day!

Calling all West Jefferson High School Football Players!

Also, Coach Blanchard would like to remind our incoming Freshmen, Juniors, and New Players to be sure to get your athletic physical done before August!

Our Mental Health Counselor, Mr. DeGraw, is available for summer appointments.

Here is the final issue of this school year's 'Panther Press!' WOW!!! What a memorable year this has been! Our staff and students really made this year one to remember! Congratulations to our 2023 Graduates who graduate tonight at 7 pm. As one chapter ends, another begins! All of us here at West Jefferson wish you all the adventure, happiness, success and blessings to come! To our incoming Freshman, Sophomore, Junior and Senior classes- we hope you have a fantastic summer, stay safe and healthy and we will see y'all in August!!!

At a recent meeting, our West Jefferson Board of Trustees approved next year's school calendar. We will be doing a Semester schedule.

Here are the final results for our West Jefferson High School Track & Field Athletes

Congratulations are also in order to our Girl's Softball team as they head to Pocatello later today to compete in state for the title 'State Champs!' Go get that W girls!

Congratulations to our Track members who qualified for state and are on their way to Boise (Middleton) right now! Go get 'em Panthers!

Students who want to jump at the opportunity to become a part of the cheer team, come show your spirit for your West Jefferson Panthers during try-outs!

Recently, our students were given the opportunity to be recognized for their hard work not only in the classroom, but in the community as well! National Honor Society(NHS) currently has 30 students who have pledged themselves to one or more of the pillars of NHS: Character, Leadership, Service and Scholarship. The NHS has been involved in outstanding acts of service and we should all take a little time to congratulate these fine students on their achievements! The group of students are advised by Mr. Gore and Mr. Packer. A few of this years NHS activities are listed below:
The National Honor Society organized and ran a Blood Drive on 03/28/2023 and were able to get 30 units of blood.
The NHS also raised over $2,000 for Adopt a Kid for Christmas program where students raised money then bought presents, and delivered presents to needy families.
The National Honor Society in the past has cleaned up litter from the streets, gotten winter clothes for needy families, tutored students who were in need of academic help, and helped in humanitarian efforts.

There have been several changes this week on our Athletic Schedule. Please note that this is the most current information and we will try to post any changes if they happen.
